This morning, I woke up and I was in Switzerland. At about 8:35, we arrived in Zurich where we needed to change trains. Since Switzerland doesn’t use the Euro, Rick got some money from the ATM. We bought two jelly filled donuts and a banana for breakfast. We then got on our next train to Milan which left at 9:01. Our train took us from the north part of Switzerland to the south so we got to see quite a bit of the country. It was beautiful. Many of the mountains still had snow on them. There were also many waterfalls which were very pretty.

Our train arrived about 15 minutes late but we still had 20 minutes before our next train left. We got on our next train to Rome which left at about 1:30. We spent about 21 hours on trains from Leiden to Rome. It wasn’t very fun. When we got to Rome we found our hostel. This was by far the worst hostel I stayed at. We were exhausted and just wanted to sleep. The people working there were too energetic and were playing loud music and yelling. There were no lockers on any of the doors. There were not enough lockers for everyone, so Rick and I shared a small one to put our valuables in.

Rachel and Brittany, who were studying with Rick in Swansea, were also in Rome when we were. They shared our room along with four other people we did not know. We all went out to eat together. We had pasta at a restaurant that was not too far from our hostel. After dinner, we went to bed.
