Rick was not feeling too well today so we did not do much. Plus, many of the museums were closed since it was Monday. We walked around the city for a little while and ate lunch.
We took a train to a little city in Italy and then took another one to Milan. This train was packed and I was glad we had a seat to sit in. When we arrived in Milan, I had a couple hours before my overnight train departed. Rick would be staying in Milan tonight and then going to Switzerland for a few days before heading back to school. It was too early for my train to be on the board so we found a place to sit and talked for awhile.
About 20 minutes before my train was scheduled to leave, we went to check what platform my train would be leaving from. I was terrified when my train was not on the board. We ran to the international tickets line to see if we could get help. We ended up cutting in line because it was so long. Fortunately, the man we cut in front of did not mind and the woman behind the counter told me what platform I needed.
I got on my train with plenty of time. I said goodbye to Rick and found my sleeping quarters. I was booked in all female’s room. There were only three of us which was really nice. One woman did not speak any of the many languages the train conductor spoke. This resulted in a few problems. In the middle of the night, I was awoken by two officers. The woman had not given the train conductor the correct identification. The man tried to tell her that her travel papers were not valid. Finally, after awhile the woman understood that she had to give them her passport.
