This morning I was pretty tired. I had Netherlands and its European Context at 10:00. Kyler, Joel, and I had to give a presentation about a Dutch city we had visited. I chose to give mine on Delft. In class we talked about the Netherlands policies of euthanasia and gay marriage. We also talked about their healthcare and insurance programs. Rick made lunch and met me at school.
After lunch we had photography class. Again, Rick sat in on our class. Actually, my professor invited him last week to join us again today. This week’s assignment was based on colored light and playing with the white balance setting on our cameras. So all of our pictures were strange colors. For the last part of class our professor took us to the botanical garden in Leiden. I had not been there yet so it was interesting to see. I was able to get in for free because of my museum card. As a student it cost Rick 2 Euros. For adults it would have been 6 Euros. We went into a few of the green houses. One had carnivorous plants including Venus Fly Traps. Outside some of the flowers were beginning to bloom so it was quite pretty for being early spring. Our next assignment is black and white photography so we started taking pictures for that assignment.
After the gardens, Rick and I went back to my residence and made dinner. That evening we packed for our next adventure. Rick worked on travel plans while I studied for my Dutch quiz.
