This morning we got up early so we could eat breakfast and walk to the train station. Breakfast was the same as the day before. We made a sandwich to bring for lunch on the train. The train station was about a forty minute walk from our hostel. We probably could have taken the metro but walking is cheaper! Our train left Berlin at about 10:30. It took us to Schiphol airport where we switched trains. We arrived in Leiden at about 5:30.
Both of us were hungry and we knew that it would be awhile before we got dinner, so I suggested we stop to get fries and mayo. We stopped at a place where I had gone before. I ordered in Dutch but the guy apparently didn’t understand me so I ordered in English. He still didn’t understand me so he directed me to the lady that was working. I ordered and paid. Twenty minutes later, they realized they forgot about me. I told them again which was even more difficult. If I wouldn’t have paid, I would have walked out a long time before. To make a long, irritating story short, I will never go back to that place. When we left, it became apparent that they were just making things difficult for me. I have never been so irritated. We finally got our fries and ate them on the walk back. At least they tasted really good after all that trouble.
We got back to my room and unpacked our bags. Then we went to the grocery store since I had very little food to make a satisfying meal. We came back and made dinner. Rick cleaned up and I stared on my homework. It took me a little longer than I expected but for the most part, it went smoothly.
