My Dutch 2 quiz went terribly. Even after hours of studying, I failed. Joel didn’t do well either so we are going to retake the quiz next week. We both had an off day and so class did not go as well as usual. After class, Rick brought me lunch. I am really going to miss having catered lunch after he is gone. We ate quickly since Kyler and I had a museum trip to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.
Since Steef is in the United States for two weeks, Kyler and I were on our own. We had a worksheet with a lot of questions to answer. To me this took some of the fun out of going. Currently, there is a special exhibit at the museum. Many of Van Gogh’s famous works that are usually housed at other museums were on display. So, I got to see the famous painting “Starry Night” which is usually in New York. Other famous works I was able to see were “Sunflowers” and “The Potato Eaters.”
After the museum, I sat in the train station in Amsterdam for a couple of hours waiting for Rick to get there. There were problems with the tracks between Leiden and Amsterdam so it took him twice as long to get there. We then took at 9:01 PM train from Amsterdam to Zurich in Switzerland. In our cabin, we met two students from New York who were studying this semester in Amsterdam. We also met a woman from Switzerland who is working towards her PHD in The Netherlands. All of them were very interesting to talk to. Eventually, it got ate and we all went to bed.
