Normally I would have Dutch 2 on Tuesday mornings. However, this week Rene was unable to be here so class is moved to Wednesday. So, I was able to sleep in this morning. We had Art and Architecture from 2:00-5:00. Today we went to a museum in Leiden. This museum is the former Laecken Halle or cloth hall. Famous Leiden cloth was sampled and sold in this building. Today, visitors can learn a little about the cloth history, see paintings, and learn a little about the history of Leiden. For class, Steef chose a painting for each of us to analyze. We had to answer basic questions about the colors, lines, etc. I had a somewhat modern painting that was done in 1917. Joel was assigned Rembrandt’s oldest known painting. We did not get to see the entire museum in much depth. My museum card gets me in for free so maybe sometime I will return.

Hey! I'm in Art and Architecture too! However, I'm sure the class is a little different....it would be odd if you were studying Mayan art!
