Today was another lazy day, but I got quite a few things done. I did laundry again. This is a somewhat difficult and nerve racking task. The machines are in a language that resembles Dutch but isn’t. There is a mini guide translated to English, but so few words are translated that it really doesn’t help. So far nothing has been ruined so I must be good at guessing! The dryers are also a little different. There are about ten settings. I haven’t found one that dries my clothes. After 40 minutes, they are still quite damp. I usually give up after this amount of time and hang clothes around my room and wait for them to dry.
This afternoon, Joel wanted to buy a bike. Kyler and I decided to go with him, however we could not find a bike shop that was open. So we decided to explore a new part of the city. We found a section of town which had slightly different architecture. As we were walking, we saw a bunch of trees. Thinking it was a park, we decided to go check it out. As we got closer we realized that it was actually an old cemetery. From what I could tell, most of the people were buried there between 1850 and 1930. There were however many older looking stones that I could not read the writing on. It was very interesting to walk around. It was also very peaceful. Our walk was cut short because it started to rain. I came back, made supper, and worked on homework.
