It seems like all I write about is Dutch class, studying for Dutch class, and food! But that is basically my life right now. We took our second quiz which was over the clock. I got all of the questions correct. In class I feel like I don’t understand what is going on but then I do well on the quizzes. We have another quiz tomorrow over more difficult material so it will be interesting to see how that goes. After class we went to the market again to buy some food. This afternoon and evening I once again spent most of my time studying for Dutch class!
I have been here almost two weeks now and I finally received my welcome box from the place I am staying. In the box was a letter welcoming me to Leiden and my own personal dishes. I have a large plate, a small plate, and a soup plate. I also received one mug, one glass, and one wine glass. A knife, fork, teaspoon, and spoon were also in the box. They are plain, common dishes with little to no design. The funny part about it was at the end of the welcome letter, it said that the dishes were mine to keep and to feel free to bring them home with me as a way to remember my time in Leiden. I don’t know anyone who would really want to bring these dishes home, especially those of us with only one suitcase. However, part of me wants to bring something home just so I can laugh about it later.
I think that "threek" you have there would make a pretty awesome souvenir :)
ReplyDeleteor maybe you'd just want the spoon... but you'd probably have to bring the dish along with it so it won't run away.
Sorry that was really cheesy... I just couldn't help myself
