This morning we had our third Dutch class. Things are getting more and more difficult. After class we went shopping. It was raining pretty hard which made walking miserable. I needed to get a new pillow. The one that was in my room was a feather pillow. Since I am allergic to feathers, I think that played a role in me being sick. The store we went to was a four story department store. The fifth story has a restaurant. When the weather is nice, people can sit out on a balcony. I am told that it is a great view of the city. We also went to the phone store and the grocery store. That evening we decided to try to find something to do. We walked around the city for awhile. We came to a place that had live jazz music. Unfortunately, it cost 10 Euros to get in. So we decided against it. We eventually ended up at a bar where we were told many students go. We didn’t meet any students but we met a bartender who had actually been to Pella, Iowa! It is kind of a long story but through many connections he came to Pella when they brought the windmill from the Netherlands. He was a lot of fun to talk too. I felt bad for other customers who had to wait since he was talking to us. We were there for a few hours just talking with him. He told us that he works on Friday nights and we needed to come back to see him sometime.
