We arrived in Nerja sometime between 9:00 and 9:30.  It was a beautiful day.  The sky was blue, the sun was shining, and it was warm.  Nerja is situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains.  It is gorgeous.  We started our day by going to a donkey reservation.  Sara had stumbled across this place the last time she was here.  Many mistreated and neglected animals are taken care of and given a better life.  It was free to get into and they give you a bucket of food to feed the animals.  After this it was time to check into our hostel.  We took nice warm showers.  It was probably the best shower I have had since coming to Europe.

After this we met my friend Lisa who is studying in Granada this semester and Nick who is also studying there.  He goes to Central but I hadn’t met him until today.  We went to the beach!  It was wonderful.  We stayed there for most of the day.  We had sandwiches, ate gelato, and just enjoyed the sun.  I put some sunscreen on but I still got sunburned.  Lisa and Nick had to catch a 7:15 bus back to Granada so that ended our day at the beach.

After they left, Sara and I went to dinner.  We ate at a restaurant that had a menu of the day.  We got to choose two courses and a drink for a decent price.  I tried paella which is a rice dish.  I also had a Spanish tortilla which is eggs, potatoes, and onions.  I wasn’t a big fan of the paella but I liked the Spanish tortilla.  We got a lot of food for what we paid.  I was stuffed.  We then went back to the hostel and went to bed.
