This morning, I had another much needed opportunity to sleep in.  I worked on homework and other things for a large portion of the day.  This evening, Joel, Kyler, and I went to Den Haag to celebrate Koninginnenacht or Queen’s Night.  This celebration occurs the night before Queen’s Day.  Many people go to Den Haag each year.  There were carnival rides, food vendors, and stages with live music.  After we had been there for awhile, we met Sara and some of her friends.  We walked around and listened to a DJ for awhile.  At some point in the night, Kyler and Joel got separated from the rest of us.  I stayed with Sara and the rest of the group for awhile but then decided to head back to Leiden around 12:30.  It amazes me how I have become a little more self confident.  When I first got here I would have never felt comfortable taking the train and walking across town late at night.  But now, it doesn’t bother me too much.  I guess it helps that I feel very safe in Leiden.
