This morning we got up and took the tube to Paddington Station. There we took the 9:03 train to Bath. We arrived around 10:40. When we got there I toured the Roman Bath. Since Rick had been there already, he sat on a bench and watched our bags. The city of Bath is full of history. When the Romans lived there, they discovered a natural spring. They used this natural hot spring and created large pools to bathe in. Today, people cannot enter these pools but can take self guided audio tours. In another section of the city, there is a modern day spa that uses the natural spring as its water source.

After I was finished with my tour, Rick and I got something to eat. We then walked to the river and saw a bridge that had shops on it. We then went on the free walking tour. The tour was about two hours long. Our tour guide was full of information. He told us a lot of history of the city and the Roman Bath.

When our tour was finished, Rick and I went into the Bath Abbey. This cathedral was beautiful. A few years ago, the inside was cleaned and so now the walls are clean and bright. Over 60 percent of the walls were glass so a lot of light could enter into the building.

After the Abbey, we went and ate supper and then headed to the train station. Our first train was about a 25 minute ride. There must have been track work going on because we had to take a bus for about 45 minutes. We then got on our last train to get to Swansea. When we arrived at the train station we took a bus to the Quadrant Center which is the main bus station in Swansea. There we took the 82A bus to the student village where Rick lives. Rick gave me a quick tour of his flat and we went to bed.
