I did not sleep well last night.  At most, I got five hours of sleep.  The lack of rest made for a really long day.  I woke up this morning and made some last minute revisions to my Art and Architectures paper an emailed it to my professor.  Then I packed for my week in the UK.  I checked the train website and discovered that the trains between Leiden and Den Haag had delays.  I really did not want to miss my train to Brussels so I left my room earlier than planned to ensure I had plenty of time.  I took a train to Den Haag HS where I switched trains.  I then took a train to Brussels.  In Brussels, I had almost two hours before my next train left.  So, I stopped and got something to eat.

To get to London, I decided to take the Eurostar train.  This train went from Brussels, trough Lille, France, and then under the English Channel to London.  I had to go through security and passport control in Brussels.  It was weird getting stamped out of Belgium and then twenty feet later getting stamped into the UK.  But it is easier for everyone that way.  The train from Brussels to London took two hours.

Both Rick’s train from Swansea and my train arrived in London at the same time.  However, we arrived at different train stations.  So, I waited for Rick to take the tube (London’s subway) to meet me.  When he got to me, we walked the short distance to our hostel.  We decided to pay a little extra to have our own room.  That way we didn’t have to worry about being woken up by or waking up others.  Also, we knew our belongings would be safe.

Our room was very small but overall not too bad.  When I first opened the door to the room, the door hit something which turned out to be the bunk bed.  We were both really tired and it was late so we went to bed.
